The AMS1117 3.3V is a low dropout voltage (LDO) linear voltage regulator that reduces the input voltage to 3.3V. It is widely used to supply boards that operate with 3.3V logic level such as ESP8266 and ESP32. It has a maximum current capacity of 1A. It can be directly soldered to circuit boards with its small SOT-223 case.
