Capacitor Code Calculator (104, 223, 2n2)

Convert ceramic capacitor codes such as 104, 223, 2n2 or 4p7 to pF, nF and µF, including the tolerance letter.

How it works

Ceramic capacitors show their value in picofarads (pF) as a short code: the first two digits are the value and the third the number of zeros, so 104 = 10 × 10⁴ pF = 100 nF. In letter notation the letter is both unit and decimal point (2n2 = 2.2 nF). A trailing J, K or M gives the tolerance (5%, 10%, 20%).
