KY-038 is a basic sensor module that detects the sound level in the environment through an electret microphone. Thanks to the LM393 comparator integrator and potentiometer on the board, the sensitivity can be easily adjusted. It offers an analog (A0) output that outputs the ambient sound intensity as a proportional voltage, as well as a digital (D0) output that is triggered when a sudden sound (e.g. hand clap) is detected that exceeds the set threshold value. It has no voice recognition or word discrimination (voice command processing); it only detects the presence and intensity of sound. Sound-sensitive (clap-driven) relay systems are widely used in noise pollution alarms and interactive robot projects that react to sound.
