The LM2596-based Step-Down module is a DC-DC converter that efficiently steps down a high input voltage to an adjustable output voltage. The output voltage can be adjusted between 1.25V and 35V with the potentiometer. It operates with high efficiency, generating much less heat than linear regulators such as the LM7805. With a current capacity of up to 3A, it is preferred for feeding multiple components such as motors, sensors and microcontrollers at the same time.
