TCS3200 is a digital color sensor module that detects surface colors through an array of 64 photodetectors and programmable filters (red, green, blue and no filter). It converts the color information into a frequency signal instead of an analog voltage and projects it to the output, so it can be read directly and noise-free with the digital pins of Arduino and ESP series boards. Both the color filter selection and the output frequency scale (2%, 20%, 100%) can be adjusted in software via pins S0-S3. Thanks to its internal illumination consisting of white LEDs, it can make consistent measurements independent of ambient light. It is widely used in color-based path detection in line-following robots, product color classification in tape systems and color recognition projects for educational purposes.
