The TCS34725 is a high-precision digital color and light intensity sensor module powered by a four-channel photodetector array: red, green, blue and raw light (Clear). Unlike the frequency-based output of the TCS3200, it transmits measurement results directly as 16-bit digital values over the I2C protocol, allowing much easier integration with Arduino and ESP series boards. Thanks to its built-in UV and infrared blocking filter, it measures only visible light, providing color perception close to the human eye, making it superior to the TCS3200 for applications requiring much more accurate and repeatable color measurement. With programmable gain (1x, 4x, 16x, 60x) and integration time settings, it works stably in both bright and dim environments. It is the preferred professional color detection solution for smart lighting systems, dye matching devices and quality control tapes.
